Using a metal frame, participants will create bundles of fresh evergreens that will attach to the frame, covering the body of the gnome.  Layers and layers of evergreens will create a full body (no thin gnomes in this workshop!).  A beard will be attached, using Silver Fir, and then his hat, nose and mittens will be affixed.  Give your gnome a name before you leave – we’ll help you come up with something clever!  This is a project for outdoor décor.

This is a workshop where you learn the techniques to create a fresh, new style of outdoor Winter planter: tree-top style.

Participants will use a simple black pot (12″ diametre) and pop in a 2-3 foot real evergreen tree (cut, not rooted) as the focal point. Then, layers of fresh evergreen boughs are added to the base of the planter to create a “skirt” that is lush and fragrant. Natural accents such as dogwood, pinecones and magnolia leaves are offered along with items from our “Accent Buffet” to create your own, unique masterpiece.

We’ve added an opportunity to go back to basics and create an outdoor evergreen arrangement in either a 12″ round, fibre planter (works as an urn insert or stand-alone pot), 24″ fibre window box /rectangular planter or 12″ fibre hanging basket.

Using a selection of fresh evergreens, participants will fill the planter of their choice (to choose upon arrival) with layers and layers for optimum fullness.  Natural accents such as dogwood, sedum, hydrangeas and pine cones will be offered, along with a visit to the “Accent Buffet” to choose up to 5 additional accents to make your arrangement truly unique and spectacular.

Returning for 2024!  You’ll make a hoop-la in your neighbourhood when you hang this unique Winter decoration.  The large 36” black metal hoop has a middle hook to hang a 14" moss hanging basket that will be generously filled and designed with drapy mixed evergreens and pinecone accents.

Choices to add a small embellishment to the top of the hoop will be offered:  bows or elegant evergreens and accents. This is a unique outdoor arrangement that will be appropriate to display until early March (and can be repurposed to Summer too, just refill the moss hanging basket with Summer annuals)!

This workshop offers the option of the full workshop or Bring-Your-Own-Hoop.

NEW!  Using a rustic 13” rectangular wooden “apple crate” stained either red or ivory (you choose upon arrival) participants will fill it with freshly cut mixed evergreens and accent with natural elements such as pinecones, pods and dogwood.  Featured in this arrangement will be three sage green felt tree accents (varied sizes for interest) that will add a truly unique style to this outdoor planter.

NEW!  A simple, tall, square plastic black pot (16”) will be filled full using a 3 foot cut evergreen top resembling a wee Christmas Tree (you can add lights to it when you get home), quality mixed evergreens (pine, BC Silver Fir and Cedar), magnolia, dried hydrangeas, super-sized pine cone and additional accents including a choice of a feature accent:  wooden show shoes, cabin or sled.

This will be a BIG feature in your outdoor Winter décor that will last throughout the Winter!

Join us to make a lovely 18-20″ outdoor wreath on a metal frame (which you will not see when we’re done). We offer an abundance of fresh evergreen snipets such as boxwood, oregonia (variegated boxwood), pine, various cedars and silver fir along with accents such as pinecones, blueberry cedar and rosehips. Participants will travel along this Evergreen Buffet to gather up “bundles” that our design team will help you “crimp” onto the frame. The result is a sturdy, lush, fragrant deluxe wreath that will last until about March on your door!

Our popular “Winter Sleigh Ride” Workshop is offered for those who already have the wooden sleigh and wish to “re-green it” and for those who are new to this project. Come one, come all!

The wooden sleigh (about 30″ long) is a sturdy construction and colour choices are natural or painted red and black. Participants will strap on a foam block and ‘green it up” with fresh boxwood, pine, cedar and silver fir evergreen snipets. A bow and accents decorate it to your personal style. This is an outdoor project; it can not remain indoors for more than 1-2 days (greens will dry out). The string allows it to be hung or it can lean against the wall/fence.

All materials are included for new participants. 

*Those returning who have the wooden sleigh FROM THIS SAME WORKSHOP can bring it to re-do and the workshop fee will be $55.00 + HST.  Please bring sleigh from our workshop only and without old foam base.

NEW LANTERN DESIGN!  A slight variation on last year’s favourite new workshop - this year a hexagonal 16” tall rustic wooden lantern will be offered in ivory.  It’s a nice, new design!  Sitting on the base of the lantern will be a furniture safe floral dish with fresh floral foam that participants will fill with fragrant fresh mixed evergreens, pine cones and light floral accents (if a session in November, fresh florals will not be used and extra dried accents will decorate the arrangement). The greenery will spill out of the sides of the lantern and gently lay on the table around it.  To light up the unit, a beautiful battery-operated LUXE candle will be added.  All materials are included in this indoor arrangement workshop.

*Those returning who have a wooden lantern from the SAME 2023 WORKSHOP can bring it to re-do and the workshop fee will be $65.00 + HST.  A new candle is included for returning participants.

The Grinch is back! Attending this super popular workshop is tradition for many of you! We’re happy to be back “grinching” it up with you again this year.

Using a decorative 6″container and fresh floral foam, participants will twist up a branch of “leyland cypress” so it bends like the last tree in a Who-ville home once the Grinch got his greedy hands on all of the goodies. Fresh evergreen boughs of boxwood, pine and cedar will be added at the base, along with light fresh flowers and a final touch of an ornament on the tip of the main branch. Whimsical and fun for the holidays!  An indoor arrangement.

NEW!  Using an elegant 8″ round gloss white, low pedestal ceramic container, participants will first nestle in a miniature potted white orchid as a focal plant.  Then, after positioning fresh floral foam around the orchid pot, fresh boxwood, pine, silver fir and drapy cedar will be added to create a fresh, elegant, all green and white arrangement.  Further accents, like decorative bottlebrush trees, pinecones and light fresh flowers, will be incorporated for a unique indoor design and can add a few pops of colour, if you wish.

NEW!  For this beautiful indoor arrangement, we’ll use a grey cement pot (7” round) that has colourful trees and cardinals embossed on it.  In this waterproof vessel we’ll arrange mixed fresh evergreen boughs and add pinecones, dogwood, light floral accents and cardinal birds clipped to the greens or sticks.  Plus, this arrangement includes, nestled in, a waxed amaryllis! It’s perfect for the folks who love a natural holiday look for their indoor arrangements.

This is an indoor potted plant workshop for folks who value houseplants they can grow on after the holidays.

In an 8” natural toned basket (with protective liner) participants will plant five seasonal bloomers. Choices will include: cyclamen, poinsettia, lemon cypress, winter berry, calandivia and frosty fern. Accents to finish the project will be a wooden tree stake, a metal deer pick, birch and pine cones.  Au Natural!

A kid’s workshop for our friends aged 3-12.

This year’s ceramic planter has a colourful  scene on it’s exterior:  foxes, birdies and winter wildlife. It will be filled with snipets of mixed evergreens so it resembles a hideaway you’d happen upon deep in the forest.  Dogwood, pinecones, light floral accents and a woodland animal friend will complete the project.  This arrangement is to remain indoors and, by keeping the floral foam moist, will last over a month!
