Workshops FAQ
-
Who may attend a workshop?
Everyone is welcome! We do ask that, unless it has been approved ahead of time, only one person per registration come to the workshop (i.e. friends coming together to make one project) as our space is limited. Do know our workshop space is accessible and we will make any additional accommodations required (i.e lower table, stool, assistance cutting etc). A tidy porta-potty washroom is provided and an additional accessible washroom is on site.
-
How do I pay?
All registrations are to be completed online, and payment in full is required at the time of registration.
Alternatively, registration can be done in-store with one of our friendly staff, and payment in full will be required at this time.
-
Is there a “Wait List” for sold out sessions?
Yes, we will accept names of people to call in the event of cancellations. Don’t hold out too much hope, however, we don’t often call folks on the wait list, sorry. Do keep an eye on the website and check the Workshop list often; whenever we can, we add a new session of a popular project (it’s a matter of finding time slots and materials). We will contact anyone on a wait list for the same project first, before posting a new workshop live on the website.
-
What if I can’t attend the day of the workshop?
We understand, life happens. If you are unable to attend, notify us as soon as possible, as we often have a waitlist for each workshop. If you can, you are welcome to transfer your participation to a friend; they can just come ahead “as you” to the workshop.
If a refund is required, it will be provided in the form of a gift card to use for in-store merchandise or a workshop at a later date.
-
What’s the temperature like in the workshop space?
The temperature in our greenhouse changes often: on sunny days it’s warm, on cloudy days it’s cool and that can change by the minute. We suggest you wear layers. It’s never uncomfortable, just change-able. We also suggest an apron or old shirt as pine gum is sticky; please do not wear your favourite cashmere sweater!
-
May I make more than one project in the workshop?
No, sorry. We’ve timed out the sessions for all to make one project; often we are rolling into another workshop right after and/or our hard working staff need to break for a rest and nourishment and can’t stay longer to help you make a second project. We will gladly help you gather the materials you need to complete a duplicate at home, or ask if you can pay for the sample the instructor makes at the beginning of the session – voila: a matched set!
-
How early should I come for my workshop?
It’s recommended that you should arrive 10-15 minutes before the scheduled start time. This gives you enough time to check-in with our event host near the front entrance and hang up your coat. We begin right at the scheduled start time.
-
What about a private session?
We do offer private sessions for groups of 6-20 people. We ask that you organize your friends, family or work colleagues to create one project (all the same) and negotiate the day and time with Vikki (contact via email or phone).

Are your workshops fun?
You bet! Come and see for yourself!
